French TV news report - students return to Château de la Baudonnière

Watch as we welcome our first school group back to Château de la Baudonnière

It was an emotional experience to host our first school trip to the Château after such a long absence and French TV news were there to capture it!

A news crew from France.tv spent a day following a school trip from Collège du Sacré-Coeur, Domfront en Poiraie on our new English Manor language programme at the Château. The report features an interview with our Château manager Darren as well as staff and students from the French school.

We've been busy innovating while you've been away

While UK school groups haven't been able to travel, the Château team has adapted and diversified. We've been busy hosting French leisure customers and youth groups at our Normandy centres as well as launching remote French language experiences to UK schools.

Our biggest innovation was the launch of the English Manor which involved our creative animateurs transforming Château de la Baudonnière into a little England where French children are immersed in English language and culture without crossing the Channel.

The English Manor programme is proving incredibly popular with French schools and we expect it to become a permanent fixture at the Château, even after COVID travel restrictions are lifted, as it offers new opportunities for onsite exchange activities between French and UK school groups to enhance your next visit. Find out more about the English Manor programme at Château de la Baudonnière and how British school groups can benefit.

There’s still time to book your French trip

Our Normandy centres are booking up fast with postponed trips from 2020 and 2021 but there is still time to reserve your place for the next school year and have something positive for your students to look forward to. We are offering flexible booking terms for schools who are worried that their travel plans may change.
